THE WOODEN TUBES

The Wooden Tubes (Bassoon Sextet) will present a Unique Evening of Music on Saturday, April 11th, 2015 at 7 pm, St John the Baptist Church, Risca Road, Newport, NP20 4HZ. £5-00 admission on the door (£3-00 concessions). 

The Wooden Tubes were originally formed in London in the 1980s by Shaun Roderick. They began life as a Bassoon Quartet and played all over  London, performing for schools and the public in many different locations and events. The group has since expanded and players have changed but its raisin d'être of having fun through music has remained. The Wooden Tubes have a versatile approach to music relying on sources throughout the different musical periods for their inspiration from Bach to Bernstein. There is sure to be something in their programme to delight everyone.
